If you&#8217;re invited, your qualifications are sufficient \u2013 now it\u2019s about fit. Companies want to know not just whether you can do the job, but whether you\u2019ll thrive in the role and environment. <a href=\"https:\/\/karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-strengths\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strengths<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-weaknesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weaknesses<\/a>, and working style can\u2019t be assessed through documents alone \u2013 they only emerge in conversations or assessment centres. <a href=\"https:\/\/karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-storytelling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Storytelling<\/a> is a powerful tool: by sharing real experiences, you allow interviewers to visualize how you work. And just as companies assess you, you also get to assess them \u2013 is this the culture and team you want to join?<\/p>\n<h2>Preparation goes beyond company research<\/h2>\n<p>Many candidates read up on the company \u2013 but forget to prepare themselves. They assume their own <a href=\"https:\/\/karrierecoaching.ch\/en\/glossary-career\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a> stories are top of mind. But there\u2019s a big gap between doing something and being able to talk about it. Routine makes us forget what we\u2019re good at. Real preparation starts with analysing the job ad, identifying key experiences and strengths, and turning them into compelling stories. Equally important: your own questions.
